Register now for the 2010 Jetton Triathlon!

The Jetton Park Triathlon is a Sprint Triathlon that will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Jetton Park in Cornelius, NC 28031. This event has been founded and organized by Wakeman Charities, Inc. for the purpose of supporting the Lake Norman and Charlotte community through establishing a charity to benefit from the proceeds of this event.

Jetton Park is a Mecklenburg County park set on the shores of Lake Norman and bordered by Peninsula Club and is one of the most beautiful venues you will find for a sporting event. This triathlon is meant to provide a safe, well marked course for athletes who want to try their first triathlon as well as challenging veteran racers who want to go for a personal record time on a fast course. Afterwards there will be food, music and fun for participants and fans. Watch for opportunities to win a raffle or door prizes!

Swim:

The 750 meter swim will be in the beautiful Lake Norman. The lake surrounds Jetton Park and will begin from the beach area near the back of the Park. Participants exit the water and run about 80 yards to the transition area.

Bike:

The bike course goes out of the Park and follows Jetton Road by the Peninsula and Lake Norman. It follows John Connor Road and Belle Isle Road and then loops back down Jetton Road to finish in the Park. Participants will enjoy this scenic route and the police and volunteers will man each intersection and turns are marked with directional signs.

Run:

The 5K run starts in the Park and then exits for a loop and then returns to finish in the Park. The run is scenic through the Park and aid stations are positioned every 1.5 miles.

This non-profit 501(c)(3) charity designed to enhance the lives of children who are terminally ill and chronically disabled, ages five to twelve in the listening area. The Levine and Dickson Hospice House of the Hospice Palliative Care of Charlotte Region. The Levine and Dickson Hospice House is a 501 (c) 3 sixteen bed facility located in Huntersville, NC. This facility specializes in care for patients when home care is not an option and the patient requires greater medical supervision. The Levine and Dickson Hospice House provides short-term, high quality compassionate hospice care. Typically patients will stay four to seven days for focused care that enables them to return to their homes or regular care setting. The specialized care team includes a clinical director, a hospice physician, hospice nurses and assistants, a social worker, chaplain and grief counselors, dietician and trained volunteered.
